I have a forum dedicated to Breakdown Force in Adelaide, We have RAA & some interstate Patrols.
raapatrols.freeforums.org/
The forum has some open pages with most dedicated to the workers at the RAA of Adelaide.
One of our biggest campaigns is to get reduced speed limits when we are attending cars broken down on the road.
It is called Campaign 40 and was started after a very serious injury to a fellow worker, The u tube link is here

Hello Baz, welcome to the forum.
It appears that everyone has a speed issue, good luck
with your campaign and I will check it out when I have
more time.
As Snaffers said feel free to hang around and let us
know how you do things over in Adelaide.
Quick note :- We dont allow new members to drop links
into the forum on their first post, but since its all
for the good of the Patrols we will let it slip.
Keep up the good work....

To update re speed reductions, we in South Australia now carry our own speed reductions signs that we can use at our discretion.
It took 10+ years of campaigning to get legislation that allows us Patrols to set up a speed reduction zone.
Paul Gunner drove the campaign from the beginning. He developed a working committee that supported his drive and tenacity.
We now can reduce the speed to 25kph if needed.

Sweet Jesus Bazz. This is an old thread BUT thank you for coming back and keeping us Brits up to date. I was the `Guest` poster who was somehow banned ??. Anyway can I ask that NT, PR or some other lacky looks into this and heads up a UK wide campaign to help us slow traffic when we are attending a breakdown on the motorway.. THINK is aimed more at the suburbian roads so Lets be the first to campaign a Slow Down, Move Over campaign.....
Cmon RAC, Lets do it....

Not sure what you refer to as the guest poster? is it to do with raapatrols.freeforums.org?
It took years of campaigning politicians. Here in Adelaide we did have a head start as the police fire and ambulance have legislation that is mandatory to slow down past them at scene (was 40kph now 25kph). There is also safety around road workers, ie construction/maintenance, they set up speed reductions etc. So we campaigned that we as roadside workers have to have the same consideration!

While most drivers know about the imposed speed and traffic restrictions around road construction or maintenance sites, and the need to slow to 40km/h past red and blue flashing lights in Adelaide.
link if allowed is mylicence.sa.gov.au/road-rules/the-drivers-handbook/speed-limits
Remember:
25 km/h (or as indicated) when passing roadworks with signs displayed.
General safety speed limits
You must not exceed 25 km/h when passing an emergency services vehicle that is stationary and displaying red and/or blue flashing lights.
An emergency services vehicle includes:
