Hi you really need to buy into how it works. Shifts are all over the place. It’s really difficult to get req holidays. Be prepared to miss out on family life especially if you have young ones! I’m what you call a mature patrol family now grown up I’ve seen an awful lot of changes over the years. If you like working on your own and like a challenge you may like it. RAC

    It's not a bad job.
Long hours, constant figure chasing and measured from the minute you sign in till you leave.
I'm 20 years in nearly and have no intention of doing anything else.
My conditions are better than what new starts get but I believe they are still descent.
The actual job itself is quite easily managed by yourself as long as you manage it... That's the trick. Wink

My biggest gripe is the cheapness of everything now... Waterproofs through to tools but it is what it is

    Sounds ideal for you.
Customer focus is more important than technical ability and we find technical training fills in any gaps where as customer skills are something you either have or don't

    Hi guys

I’ve recently applied to become a patrol. Sat my online assessment they send you via email, what’s the next step please. I’ve got 16 years mechanical experience, but my bear bug is electrical I’m a more hands on type of guy. If you guys could give me some positive feedback on the assessment process, wages for beginners etc? I have read that it’s long hours! I am a family, but don’t mind grafting even in adverse weather conditions...if the coin is right! you could say I'm an outdoor type of guy. Overall I’m sceptical with an open mind, any feedback appreciated

Thanks...wish me luck on my journey

    Hi guys

I’ve passed my online assessment at home now waiting for assessment day. How long until I hear something back please...really want this job as I’m fed up with dealers now!

Also does anyone have any information on how to revise for the RAC mock test?

    Thanks
